TWO 2019 Spring Races in Louisville: Long Run Early Bird and the Cardinal Omnium

We’re excited to grow our offerings for local cyclists into two different races this spring, the Long Run Early Bird on Saturday March 2nd and the Cardinal Omnium on March 15-17th!

University of Louisville will host the Cardinal Omnium and the Long Run Early Bird

Long Run Early Bird

Held on Saturday March 2nd, this will be the season kickoff for IN/KY racing! We’re reviving the Long Run Park Circuit Race because it was a crowd favorite. The length of the loop, nearly 3km, with its scenic and undulating parcours made it feel like a road race, but with the short duration of a criterium. Perfect for early season prep work!

Cardinal Omnium

The Cardinal Omnium stays true to its roots. It’s got a little bit of everything for everyone with a true Time Trial, an actual road race (the only of its kind in this area!) and this year will have a 1km criterium at Iroquois Park.

The TT will happen on Friday March 15th at Joe Huber Family Restaurant and Farm. On Saturday, March 16th, the same venue will host our road races throughout the day and will have their famous country-style buffet on hand! This schedule is new this year to allow for better road racing for all. Then on Sunday, March 17th we’re trying the new 1km loop around the Iroquois Amphitheatre so we can host a true Criterium.
